III Archaeology and History of Art of Late Antiquity and early Middle Ages

In the field of medieval archaeology and art history, especially late antiquity and the early Middle Ages (4th-10th century), research projects and measures for the mediation and valorisation of material culture, artistic forms of expression, architectural monuments, settlements and landscapes are funded. The perspective may be interdisciplinary, in dialogue with other humanistic (historical, legal, literary, linguistic, ethno-anthropological) and scientific (chemical-physical, life and earth sciences, diagnostics and information technology) skills. Field surveys and restoration work are also included. The geographical scope is extended to Europe and the Mediterranean, without excluding non-European areas in contact with them.
